Matt Joyce has six alarms set so he is not late for game again

Angels outfielder Matt Joyce was benched, and later fined, for arriving to the ballpark late for Monday’s game against the Blue Jays. In an effort to make sure it doesn’t happen again, Joyce has gone the extra mile to make sure he is on time from now on.

On Wednesday, Joyce tweeted the above photo, showing six alarms he has set in his phone, ranging from 6:00 am to 12:15 pm. He also included the following apology:

“I know being late is no joke, I take my job very seriously. I apologize to the Fans, Angels, and the League.”

I think it’s safe to say Angels manager Mike Scioscia doesn’t have to worry about tardiness from Joyce anymore. And we know Joyce’s dogs will get their morning walk.

Joyce’s exclusion from the lineup only lasted one game as Scioscia penciled Joyce onto the lineup card as the left fielder for Tuesday’s game.
