The New York Mets’ bats showed signs of life Saturday against their division-rival Philadelphia Phillies.

The Mets trailed the Phillies 3-1 through two innings at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pa. It was not the start the road team needed after getting embarrassed by the Phillies the night before.

New York’s offense got a jolt to start the third inning. Francisco Lindor, who entered the contest on a 0-for-18 slump, took Mick Abel deep to cut the lead to one.

Brandon Nimmo got in on the act a few pitches later. He golfed a low curveball to the seats in right field to tie the game at 3-3.

Juan Soto made it three of a kind with a laser to right field. It was the first time in nearly three years that the Mets hit back-to-back-to-back jacks. Lindor and Nimmo were also part of the last one alongside Jeff McNeil.

The Mets have hit back-to-back-to-back homers for the first time in three years. Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto all went yard off Mick Abel to open the third inning.

The Mets entered Saturday’s game on a season-worst seven-game losing streak. The tailspin allowed the Phillies to regain the NL East division lead.

Multiple Mets guaranteed a New York win Saturday after their brutal 10-2 loss to the Phillies on Friday. Win or lose, the Mets’ top sluggers looked as locked in as ever early in the contest.
