Did Nick Castellanos drop F-bomb on Phillies fans during Game 2?
Philadelphia Phillies fans are a notoriously tough bunch, and they may have even gotten on Nick Castellanos’ nerves during Game 2 of the NLDS between the Phillies and New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Castellanos went 3-for-5 and finished with three huge hits, including the walk-off winner. But before that happened, he began the game 0-for-2, which had Phillies fans frustrated.
Castellanos lined out in the first, and then in the fourth, he grounded out. During his at-bat in the fourth, Castellanos went fishing for two balls out of the zone. When he finally took the 0-2 pitch for a ball, the fans sarcastically cheered.
Fans watching on TV noticed that Castellanos seemed to say, “these f—ing people” in response to the sarcasm.

We can’t completely credit Phillies fans for firing him up, but maybe their sarcasm didn’t hurt.
In his next at-bat, Castellanos homered to go back-to-back with Bryce Harper in the sixth to tie the game. Then Castellanos had a big hit to set up a rally in the eighth, and then he delivered a walk-off hit to win the game 7-6 in the ninth.
Whatever happened between Castellanos and the fans in that game, all is surely forgiven.
