A toxicology report revealed that former St. Louis Cardinals prospect Oscar Taveras was driving drunk at the time of his fatal car crash on Oct. 26.
Taveras, 22, and his girlfriend, Edilia Arvelo, were killed when Taveras crashed his car on a highway in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.
A spokeswoman for the attorney general’s office in the DR told The Associated Press that Taveras’ blood-alcohol content was five times the legal limit, which means it would have been over 0.25 (the legal limit is 0.05 the DR).

Taveras was one of the top prospects in baseball and batted .239 with three home runs last season.
