Paul Molitor could reportedly remain with Twins in new role
The Minnesota Twins have decided to move on from Paul Molitor as their manager, but that does not mean his days with the organization are finished.
Numerous reports indicated that the Twins informed Molitor on Tuesday that he is being let go from his job as manager. However, ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick was told by sources that Molitor and the Twins have had conversations about the 62-year-old remaining with the team in a different capacity.
The #Twins have had "productive conversations'' with Molitor about transitioning to a different role in the organization, according to sources. So it appears he could be staying with the team in a different capacity. https://t.co/7hHUqvaxlO

Molitor had an overall record of 305-343 in four seasons with the Twins. They regressed this year and went 78-84 after Molitor led the team to a playoff berth and was named AL Manager of the Year in 2017. The Hall of Famer’s first managerial job was in Minnesota, so perhaps he would prefer to remain with the organization rather than seeking a job elsewhere.
