Rangers, Brewers in mix for Lorenzo Cain
The free agent market for outfielder Lorenzo Cain could be heating up, with the Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers cited as teams interested in signing the center fielder.
On Thursday, ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick said the Rangers had “ramped up” their pursuit of Cain.

Meanwhile, Ken Rosenthal reported in a column on The Athletic that the Brewers have also expressed interest in Cain.
The Brewers initially drafted Cain in 2004 before trading him to Kansas City as part of the Zack Greinke trade. He blossomed into a strong all-around center fielder in KC, winning a World Series with the team.
Cain will turn 32 in April and seems likely to land a sizable contract. He batted .300 with an .803 OPS last season and is regarded as a strong defender.
