Red Sox left insane tip after World Series celebration in LA

Red Sox celebrate

The Boston Red Sox have gladly spent hundreds of thousands — if not millions — of dollars celebrating their 2018 World Series championship, and it sounds like they have been mighty generous while doing so.

TMZ reported earlier in the week that the Red Sox bought roughly $300,000 worth of booze while partying at a nightclub in Los Angeles after they defeated the Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series Sunday night. The gossip site has since viewed a copy of the actual bill, and the tip the team left is more impressive than the tab itself.

According to the itemized receipt, the Red Sox ordered more than 150 bottles of high-end champagne and 30-plus bottles of hard alcohol. The bill added up to around $300K with taxes and fees, and the team left a whopping $195,000 tip.

The Red Sox spent about the same amount at a Boston nightclub when they returned home on Tuesday, so it’s probably safe to assume they left a massive tip then, too.

All in all, that’s a small price to pay after one of the most successful franchises in sports adds another championship trophy to its case. We thought the Golden State Warriors went crazy with the spending after their latest title, but the Red Sox may have outdone them.
