Red Sox spent insane amount on booze for World Series celebrations

Red Sox celebrate

The Boston Red Sox have gotten used to capturing World Series titles over the past 14 years or so, but the amount of money they spent celebrating their latest proves that the feeling truly never gets old.

According to TMZ, the Red Sox spent around $300,000 on alcohol alone while partying in Los Angeles after they beat the Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series Sunday night. Then, they did it all over again on Tuesday night at Icon Nightclub in Boston, where Red Sox players ordered massive bottles of Luc Belaire Luxe and over 40 cases of champagne to share with all those in attendance. All in all, TMZ reports that the champs spent around $600K worth in booze alone during those two crazy nights.

And that’s not including whatever they spent at Wednesday’s victory parade, so the total alcohol tab may have been close to $1 million.

Believe it or not, it sounds like the Golden State Warriors actually spent even more than that when they celebrated their most recent title. Whatever the case, that’s a lot of adult beverages for both franchises.
