Red Sox P Joe Kelly not happy about appeal being denied
Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Joe Kelly is not happy about losing his appeal.
Kelly on Thursday will begin serving his 6-game suspension for his brawl with the Yankees’ Tyler Austin on April 11. Kelly’s suspension was handed down a week after the fight. He appealed the punishment, and MLB announced that had been denied. However, Austin’s suspension was reduced from five games to four on appeal.
That likely is what led to the following tweet from Kelly on Thursday:
At least take me to dinner first…

“At least take me to dinner first…” is a saying that generally precedes “before you f— me.”
Kelly clearly feels he is being screwed in the situation. Of course, the way he seemed to invite Austin to come out and fight probably didn’t help his case.
