Replay overturns Charlie Blackmon RBI ground-rule double
A replay review during the 9th inning of Thursday’s Game 1 of the NLDS between the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies resulted in an overturned call that took away an RBI ground-rule double by Charlie Blackmon.
Blackmon was batting with runners on first and second and nobody out in the top of the 9th and hit a ball down the right field line. The ball landed near the line and skipped over the wall. The play was initially ruled a ground-rule double for Blackmon, making the score 2-1 while leaving the Rockies with runners on second and third.
Instead, a review showed the ball was foul by the tightest of margins.

The call was overturned and Blackmon was brought back to complete his at-bat. He ended up knocking in a run with a single to right, making it a 2-1 game. The Rockies later added a run to tie the game, so all worked out just as well.
That was a tight call and a tough one to overturn, but MLB appeared to get it right.
