Report: Robinson Cano to be suspended 80 games for PED use
Robinson Cano is expected to miss a significant amount of time after he was hit on the hand by a pitch on Sunday, but it sounds like the Seattle Mariners were going to be without the All-Star second baseman for a lengthy period, anyway.
According to baseball reporter Hector Gomez, Cano will be suspended by Major League Baseball after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic confirmed the report, adding that Cano is facing an 80-game ban.

Cano, 35, is hitting .287 this year with four home runs and 23 RBI. His production declined a bit last season after he belted a career-best 39 homers in 2016.
Cano will likely need surgery on his hand after he was hit by a pitch and suffered a fracture. It was not that long ago that he bragged about how confident he is in where the Mariners are at, but things have obviously changed in a hurry.
