Russell Martin injured finger during postgame celebration, needed stitches
During the celebration after Tuesday’s wildcard game, a member of the Blue Jays injured himself while giving a high five.
The Blue Jays defeated the Orioles in dramatic fashion, thanks to a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning off the bat of Edwin Encarnacion.
Not only did fans at Rogers Centre go crazy, but the Blue Jays did as well, understandably so. Sometime during the postgame celebration, Russell Martin picked up a cut on his finger that required stitches.

Thankfully, Martin doesn’t appear to be in any danger of missing Game 1 of the American League Division series against the Rangers, which gets underway Thursday. On the weird injury front, it’s yet another one for the Blue Jays catcher this season. See what happened to Martin as a result of sitting in a sauna too long here.
