The Pittsburgh Pirates are in the market for a new manager after deciding to fire Clint Hurdle last week. A familiar name to baseball fans reportedly is being mentioned as a candidate for the job.
Sam Fuld, who played eight seasons as an outfielder between 2007-2015, keeps coming up as a candidate, according to 93.7 The Fan’s Colin Dunlap.
Talked to three people employed by other teams today about the Pirates managerial opening.

Fuld, 37, was an outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays, Oakland A’s, Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins. He was known for making superhero-like catches in the outfield.
Fuld is the player information coordinator for the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a candidate for the Blue Jays’ managerial job last winter.
