Chicago Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga has become well-known for his unique personality since he made his MLB debut last year, and he dropped another unique quote recently.
Imanaga was asked in a recent interview what he misses most about his home country of Japan. His answer, as it turns out, is bathtubs, but he has come up with an unorthodox solution to the problem.
“Most houses in Japan have bathtubs,” Imanaga said. “So when I go somewhere without one, I miss the bathtubs in Japan. The place I’m at right now, they don’t have a bathtub. So I bought an inflatable tub which is for kids or babies, and I just put hot water in there, and I’ll just go in there.”

Credit to Imanaga for an innovative solution. There is a reason they call him The Throwing Philosopher, after all. Still, somebody get that man a permanent residence with a built-in bathtub.
On the other hand, whatever Imanaga is doing right now seems to be working. The left-hander has a 2.77 ERA through seven starts, and his performances are a big reason the Cubs occupy first place in the NL Central. Perhaps he should just stick to the kiddie pool as long as that run continues.
Imanaga has definitely found some perks about living in America. Cubs fans love him for comments like this, not to mention the fact that he is turning out to be a very good pitcher for them.
