Tommy Pham had to be restrained after incident at home plate
Tommy Pham had to be restrained after a confrontation at home plate during Sunday’s game between his Chicago White Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The White Sox were down 4-3 in the top of the eighth inning and had runners on second and third with one out. They were in a perfect spot to rally, but Corey Julks flew out to left, and Pham was thrown out trying to tag up from third for an inning-ending double play.
Brewers catcher William Contreras and reliever Enoli Paredes celebrated the double play, which may not have sat well with Pham, who grew upset.

Pham was heated and pointed toward the Brewers. He was restrained by home plate umpire Edwin Jimenez and pushed away by some teammates.
Milwaukee was unfazed and added two more runs in the bottom of the 8th to extend their lead to 6-3, which was the final score.
It’s that type of attitude the White Sox were hoping Pham could bring to the team. Unfortunately, that hasn’t produced the results Chicago wants, as they have lost 11 in a row.
