Twins reportedly have interest in Craig Kimbrel
Craig Kimbrel is one of the most noteworthy names remaining on the free agent market, and there has been no indication that he is close to signing a contract with spring training now underway. The reliever is drawing some interest, however.
Jim Bowden of CBS Sports reports that the Minnesota Twins have been keeping in touch with Kimbrel’s agent.

There has been a lot of talk about Kimbrel potentially having to take a one-year deal, but that is not something he is interested in. In fact, he is even reportedly considering the possibility of sitting out the 2019 season if that’s all teams are willing to offer.
Kimbrel has 333 career saves and a remarkable 1.91 career ERA. He’s one of the best closers in MLB history, but he was shaky in the playoffs last season. With teams spending less in free agency over the past two years, it makes sense that he isn’t getting the offers he wants. A reunion with his former team remains a possibility, but it could be a while before the right-hander signs.
