A matter of weeks after acquiring him, the Chicago White Sox are reportedly willing to move James Shields.
Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reported Thursday that the starting pitcher is available, and that a recent string of good starts could boost his value significantly.
James Shields is available via trade, sources say, and #WhiteSox could capitalize on spike in value: 1.71 ERA over last six starts. @MLB

Shields was acquired by the White Sox from the Padres on June 4 in an attempt to salvage their season. It hasn’t worked, with the White Sox sitting 8 games out in the AL Central. The move looked like a disaster after three starts, but since then, he’s put together an ERA of 2.11 in his last seven starts. That includes 7.2 shutout innings against the Cubs on Wednesday night. It’s worth noting that the Sox are paying a portion of Shields’s contract, and they’d probably like to get themselves off the hook from that in any deal they make.
