Wife of Starling Marte dies from heart attack

Starling Marte shared some truly awful news on Monday.

Marte disclosed via social media that his wife Noelia died due to a heart attack.

According to Jon Heyman, Noelia broke her ankle and was in the hospital awaiting surgery when she died.

Starling Marte’s wife died unexpectedly today. She broke her ankle and was in the hospital and said to be awaiting surgery when she passed. Best wishes to Starling, who just announced the death.

This is just terrible news.

Marte, 31, was traded by Pittsburgh to Arizona in January. He has played eight seasons for the Pirates and hit a career-high 23 home runs with 82 RBIs and an .845 OPS.
