For those of you who haven’t heard, Wily Mo Pena is back. For those of you who have never heard of Wily Mo Pena, he’s a below average outfielder and even worse hitter but has tremendous power. Think of it this way: the guy could do some serious damage on the football field. He also once sent a ball flying into the left field concession stand area in Kansas City while playing with the Red Sox.
Like many other ballplayers, it turns out Pena is a little strange. If you think David Ortiz spitting into his hands before every pitch is nasty, take a look at one of Pena’s rituals. Arizona fans will take it any way they can get it. If a nice loogie on the top of Wily’s dome is all he needs to send a ball into orbit, so be it.
