Aaron Gordon slammed the Denver Nuggets to victory on Saturday night.
The Nuggets squandered a 22-point lead in the fourth quarter of their Game 4 first-round matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. The Clippers tied the game at 99 thanks to a tip-in from Ivica Zubac with eight seconds left in the contest.
Zubac’s game-tying bucket set the stage for Gordon to save the day. Nikola Jokic was forced into a tough fadeaway jumper from the right wing. The Joker overshot his attempt so much that it turned into a perfect lob for the high-flying Gordon, who dunked the ball just before the final buzzer.

Gordon’s slam became the first-ever game-winning buzzer-beating dunk in NBA postseason history. It could not have come at a better time for the Nuggets, who would have fallen into a 3-1 hole had the Clippers completed their massive comeback in overtime.
Gordon finished with 14 points on five made field goals, none bigger than his last one to secure the win in Game 4.
Jokic was not credited for an assist on Gordon’s game-ending play. But it’s only fitting that even his last-second miss on Saturday yielded a positive result. The Nuggets center had a monstrous 36-point, 21-rebound double-double on 14/25 shooting from the floor. He was also just two assists shy of a triple-double.
Through its first three games, the Clippers-Nuggets series had a strong case to be the most exciting of the first round thus far. Game 4 sealed it.
