NBA commissioner Adam Silver issues statement on death of Kobe Bryant

Adam Silver

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has issued a statement on the shocking death of Kobe Bryant.

Silver paid tribute to Bryant as well as the former NBA star’s daughter Gianna, who also died in the helicopter crash. Silver paid tribute to Bryant’s many accomplishments as an NBA player, as well as his efforts to teach the game to others.

Silver’s tribute is the latest of many, including one emotional one from one of Bryant’s most famous former teammates. This is a difficult day for many in the NBA considering Bryant’s significance to many modern players, and there wasn’t much Silver could say to properly sum up the grief that many in the game are feeling Sunday.
