Angel Reese is in a celebratory mood after her brother landed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Julian Reese, a key player for Maryland last season, signed with the Lakers after going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft. Reese is expected to get the opportunity to impress with the Lakers’ Summer League team.

Reese’s older sister Angel offered a strong reaction on social media after the news broke.

“OPPORTUNITY. COME ON JU,” Angel Reese wrote on X.

Reese was a starter for Maryland last season, playing in 36 games for the Terps. As a senior, he averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds her game and was a core part of a Sweet 16 team. He spent his entire college career with the Terrapins and was a three-year starter under former head coach Kevin Willard.

Angel has always been a strong supporter of her brother. The Chicago Sky forward was even in attendance for one of his March Madness games. Her ability to chart his Summer League progress will be limited by the ongoing WNBA season, but presumably she will be watching and pulling for him from afar.
