Anthony Edwards has great reason for not doing dunk contest
Plenty of NBA fans would probably love to see Minnesota Timberwolves forward Anthony Edwards in the Slam Dunk Contest. That will not be happening, and Edwards has a pretty great reason behind his stance.
Edwards, in Cleveland for the Rising Stars Game, was asked Friday if he would ever consider taking part in the dunk contest. The answer was no, with a pretty hilarious reason.
“Nah, man. I’m an in-game dunker,” Edwards said. “I’m not really a big trick guy. I just like to dunk on people.”
The last part of that quote is indisputable. In fact, Edwards might have the most soul-destroying dunk of the season to date. You can’t really do that in the dunk contest. Even if you jump over someone else, they’re not going to be trying to contest the dunk.
Fans will have to settle for Edwards’ fantastic in-game dunks. Either that or his endlessly great quotes after big games.
