Report: Bryan Colangelo expected to lose his job
The Twitter burner account scandal is expected to cost Bryan Colangelo his job as Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations, according to a report.
Philly.com’s Keith Pompey reports that the Philadelphia 76ers are expected to finish their investigation of Colangelo within the next few days. He also says that many expect Colangelo to be fired as a result.
The Ringer published a story on Tuesday night that accused Colangelo of running several secret Twitter accounts that were used to pump him up and denigrate many of the team’s players and coaches, as well as other executives across the league.
In a statement, Colangelo claimed ownership of one of the accounts but denied knowledge of the other four. Three of the accounts appeared to have ties to Colangelo’s wife.
If found to be accurate, the accusations would tarnish Colangelo’s reputation and make it difficult for him to be trusted by teams in the future.
