Carlos Boozer said to be planning an NBA comeback
Stop the presses because we just may have found the hottest NBA offseason news of them all.
According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical on Thursday, former All-Star big man Carlos Boozer is planning a return to the NBA.
The 34-year-old Boozer has apparently been working out in Miami over the past year and is said to be targeting a bench/mentorship role for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
Boozer last played in the league for the Lakers in 2014-15, averaging 11.8 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game on 49.9 percent shooting from the field. It’s unclear though what kind of interest Boozer might garner as an aging, undersized defensive liability who doesn’t shoot three-pointers.
Still, there might be a place for the 13-year veteran in a Mo Speights or a Luis Scola-type capacity on some team. Let’s just hope that Boozer has the foresight to leave the spray-on at the door.
