Report: Clippers to hire Tyronn Lue as associate head coach
The Los Angeles Clippers are adding an experienced pair of hands to their coaching staff as they prepare to take on next season’s high expectations.
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Clippers are adding former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue to their staff as an assistant to head coach Doc Rivers. Lue’s job title is likely to be associate head coach.

Lue was widely regarded as the leading candidate for the Lakers' head coaching job before talks broke down. Lue has worked alongside Rivers before and would likely join the Clippers as associate head coach

Lue coached LeBron James’ Cavaliers to a title in 2016 and looked set to coach him again with the Lakers before talks broke down. Now, he’ll instead face the Lakers as a leading division rival, adding another twist to the subplot of the rivalry between these two contenders.
