Danny Green signing with Lakers in free agency
Kawhi Leonard’s free agency announcement has led to another domino in free agency regarding his longtime teammate Danny Green.
The LA Clippers will not have room to keep Green together with Leonard, so Green has decided to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Green announced the news in a video on his podcast’s channel. He said it would be a two-year deal.

“I’m excited for the next two years that I will be teaming up with my new teammates in LA, the Los Angeles Lakers. Looking forward to playing with those guys. I had a fun time in the city of Toronto,” Green said.
Green is getting $30 million over two years, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Green had emphasized that his No. 1 priority in free agency was going somewhere he felt he can win. On the Lakers, he’ll team with LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Kyle Kuzma. The Lakers have around $17 million remaining in salary cap space but will have to dig deep to fill out the rest of their roster. Most of the top free agents are already signing with other teams.
