The former Knicks coach and longtime Lakers player wants the job, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.
The Lakers are still in the process of compiling their list of potential candidates, which is reportedly fairly ambitious.
Fisher didn’t have much success in his first job with the Knicks, but perhaps it will serve as a learning experience. He also reportedly had some trust issues with his players, which the Lakers locker room knows all about. Don’t worry, Matt Barnes has already made the joke.
It’s hard to say if Fisher is the best choice to take what will be a very young Lakers team into a post-Bryant era. The Lakers players seem open to a new voice, but it likely depends on who else is interested in the position.
