Matt Barnes really will not let his beef with Derek Fisher go. This time he zinged the former New York Knicks coach with a meme posted to Instagram that referenced the D’Angelo Russell situation:
“Folks got the game so a– backwards these days you don’t know who to trust!” Barnes wrote as his caption.
Though the zingers from Barnes certainly are entertaining, I wouldn’t put what D’Angelo did on the same level as what Fisher did.
Russell is responsible for violating a teammate’s privacy by recording a video talking about him cheating and sending it out to someone who later leaked it. All Fisher did was date Barnes’ estranged wife after the two were separated. Barnes was already out dating other women; why shouldn’t his wife be allowed to date someone as well? It was a poor choice for Fisher to get caught up in that drama, but it’s not like Fisher and Barnes were homies. He wasn’t violating a code there.
