The Los Angeles Lakers have an open roster spot, and there is a chance they could use it on Dion Waiters.
The Lakers are set to work out Waiters on Monday, ESPN reports. Waiters is a free agent after being waived by the Grizzlies, who acquired him as part of a larger trade involving Andre Iguodala.
Waiters has only played in three games this season due to multiple suspensions with the Miami Heat. It’s unclear whether he will be in proper playing shape or have the team mentality the Lakers are looking for, but those are things the team will be trying to find out.

Waiters has some ties to the Lakers. He used to be represented by former agent Rob Pelinka, who currently heads the Lakers’ basketball side. His current agent is Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, which also represents LeBron James, who teamed with Waiters in Cleveland.
Troy Daniels was waived by the Lakers on Sunday, creating space on the roster for another player, like Waiters potentially.
