Did college coach hint at landing Bronny James via transfer portal?
Bronny James recently entered the transfer portal, and one college coach has fans buzzing about a potential landing spot for the 19-year-old.
James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, has entered the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility. While he is reportedly taking the process leading up to the draft seriously, many expect Bronny to play at least another season in college after a somewhat disappointing freshman year at USC. The big question, of course, is which school James will land at if he leaves USC.
On Wednesday, new Duquesne head coach Dru Joyce sparked a wave of speculation with a cryptic post on X. Joyce shared a GIF of himself doing LeBron’s famous pregame chalk toss.

Duquesne has always been viewed as a legitimate transfer destination for Bronny. The James family has deep ties to Joyce and the Duquesne program. Duquesne has also made a scholarship offer to LeBron’s other son.
Bronny probably will not make any official announcements about transferring until he is done exploring the NBA Draft. But if he does wind up at Duquesne, Joyce’s cryptic social media post will not be viewed as a coincidence.
James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.4 minutes per game over 25 contests with USC last season. He suffered a cardiac arrest prior to the season but was able to return.
