Extended Donald Sterling audio clip contains more shocking racist remarks
An extended version of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s alleged conversation with his girlfriend V. Stiviano was published by Deadspin on Sunday morning, and the content is just as — if not more — shocking. In the new audio, which adds about five minutes to TMZ’s original clip, Sterling talks about his own team and compares black people to dogs.
In a pathetic attempt to clarify his ignorant stance, Sterling explained to Stiviano how black people in Israel are “treated like dogs.”
DS: The white Jews, there’s white Jews and black Jews, do you understand?
V: And are the black Jews less than the white Jews?
DS: A hundred percent, fifty, a hundred percent.
V: And is that right?
DS: It isn’t a question — we don’t evaluate what’s right and wrong, we live in a society. We live in a culture. We have to live within that culture.
At one point, Stiviano reminded Sterling that he owns a team that is made up of mostly African-American players. Sterling’s response basically made it sound like he is doing his players a favor by providing them with food, clothing and shelter.
“You just, do I know?” he asked. “I support them and give them food, and clothes, and cars, and houses. Who gives it to them? Does someone else give it to them? Do I know that I have — Who makes the game? Do I make the game, or do they make the game? Is there 30 owners, that created the league?”
The discussion ended when Stiviano brought up the Holocaust and racism against Jewish people. Sterling, who is a Jew, called Stiviano a “mental case” for comparing his thoughts on black people to the Holocaust.
Typically this is where I’d say the entire clip is worth listening to, but it would be understandable if you’re sick of hearing Sterling’s incredibly ignorant views on life. He’s almost not worth anyone’s time at this point.
