From breaking NBA news to breaking ankles?
Shams Charania will put his phone down and lace it up in the upcoming NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, as basketball fans are about to see whether the 31-year-old ESPN NBA insider has some skills to go with his reporting abilities.
Charania already sounded confident about his game when he announced his participation in the event.
“That’s always been a dream for me, Hannah [Storm], so I appreciate it,” Charania said during a Tuesday appearance on “NBA Today.
“Between the trade deadline and the celebrity game, now I realize I got a lot of ramp-up to do. I gotta represent.”
Charania added a preview of what fans can expect to see from him on the court, saying, “I’m a shooter, I can handle the ball, and I can make my floaters. Shoutout Danny Green.”
Charania did not mention something about his defense, but fans will also find out about that in the exhibition game, which will be held at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
A vast majority of the population hasn’t seen Charania play hoops, so this celebrity event can be viewed as his legacy game.
Either way, he’ll be back to scouring for big NBA news once he’s done taking care of business on the court.
