Frank Vogel has Lakers staff preparing for playoff opponents
Coronavirus-related restrictions in California have limited the ability of the Los Angeles Lakers to conduct any sort of business as usual, which has left teams trying to figure out how to stay busy and productive. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel decided on a strategy to keep his staff busy.
Vogel spoke with reporters on a conference call Thursday and said he has his staff preparing for potential playoff opponents.
Frank Vogel said on a conference call that, although has no opinion on what the league should do when basketball resumes, he's given his staff assignments to study up on potential playoff opponents, as if the regular season is over.

There has been some thought that when the NBA season resumes, it would begin with the playoffs rather than the rest of the regular season. While that wouldn’t be LeBron James’ preference, Vogel is aiming to have his scouting reports set for when the time comes.
The Lakers led the Western Conference with a 49-14 record when the season was suspended, second only to Milwaukee for the best record in the league. The Memphis Grizzlies are in the eighth spot and would be the Lakers’ first-round opponent if things held up.
