Giannis Antetokoumpo’s brother Thanasis is facing a lengthy absence after suffering an injury recently.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo has suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon and will undergo surgery.

That’s tough news for Antetokounmpo as Achilles’ tendon injuries are tricky and involve lengthy recovery times.

The 31-year-old Thanasis has been with the Bucks for the last five seasons. He saw action in 34 games last season and 37 games the year before that. Though he topped out at 15 minutes in a November game earlier in the regular season, Thanasis generally only plays a few minutes when he does get into a game.

When Thanasis does make headlines, it’s usually not for great reasons.
