Jaylen Brown is staying at just one ring for the time being.
Carlos Greer of Page Six reports this week that the Boston Celtics star Brown has broken up with his WNBA player girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick. Greer adds that the couple split at the beginning of the NBA season after Brown supposedly starting “distancing himself” in order to focus on his play.
Brown, 28, and Gondrezick, 27, began dating last year and were spotted together at the championship parade after the Celtics won it all in the 2023-24 season. The couple also shared a notable viral moment together during NBA Summer League this past year.
Gondrezick is the daughter of the late former NBA guard Grant Gondrezick. She was an All-Big 12 selection during her time in college at West Virginia and went with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft to the Indiana Fever. Gondrezick then spent last WNBA season playing for the Chicago Sky but made just five total appearances for them.
Before dating Brown, Gondrezick was in a relationship with another NBA player in Kevin Porter Jr., who is now with the Milwaukee Bucks. Porter Jr. was arrested in 2023 on charges of domestic violence against Gondrezick and eventually pled guilty to a reckless assault charge (a misdemeanor) and a second-degree harassment violation.
As for Brown, the reigning NBA Finals MVP, he is averaging 22.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game for the Celtics this season. He will be making an appearance in San Francisco this weekend as part of his fourth career NBA All-Star selection.
