Jaylen Brown may need to reevaluate his relationship with his Boston Celtics teammates after they left him out to dry during his recent livestream.
Brown went live on the streaming platform Twitch on Saturday for a virtual hangout with his fans. During one portion of the four-hour stream, Brown had the idea of calling up some of his teammates to amuse his viewers.
The four-time All-Star first called Payton Pritchard, who did not pick up. The Celtics forward then tried and failed to get Derrick White on the stream, which Brown attributed to White being busy as a married man.

Brown then tried to use his seniority to get bench players Neemias Queta and Jordan Walsh on the phone. Neither of them answered, despite Brown stating that he would “have beef” with Walsh if he didn’t pick up.
The 2024 NBA Finals MVP tried one more name: Jayson Tatum. Apparently, starring on a championship-winning team together wasn’t enough for Tatum to take Brown’s call.
It was quite the rough watch for Brown, who did his best to laugh off the entire ordeal. He even reposted the clip of himself getting ignored on his Instagram account.
In all fairness to Jaylen, streamers usually inform friends beforehand when they plan to make a call during a livestream. Brown, who just started streaming earlier this year, seemed to make the calls spontaneously.
It’s been a tough offseason for Brown, who also got embarrassed by his alma mater’s high school principal late last month.
With Tatum nursing an Achilles injury, Brown has a daunting season ahead as the best player on a Celtics team that traded away both Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday.
The least his Celtics teammates can do is answer his phone call.
