Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss has seen her franchise make headlines for all the wrong reasons this week, and she managed to make herself an even bigger part of the story with her social media activity. But was it intentional?
Not long after ESPN published a bombshell story detailing the dysfunction within the Lakers organization, Buss had an interesting “like” on Twitter. The tweet she liked included a link to a story in which Magic Johnson said he would replace Lakers GM Rob Pelinka and former head coach Luke Walton right away if he could do his job over again.

Is that Buss’s way of siding with Magic? That’s one interpretation, but it wouldn’t make much sense considering she has chosen not to replace Pelinka as GM. Perhaps Buss did accidentally hit the “like” button, though we’ll probably never know.
The Lakers have been a mess for years now, and the ESPN feature embarrassed the franchise in a number of different ways. It would be tough to imagine Buss dumping more fuel on the fire at a time like this.
