The defending NFC champions are drawing motivation from the NBA’s MVP.
After Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry dropped 40 points — 17 in overtime — in a Game 4 win over the Portland Trail Blazers Monday night, Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart and some teammates gave him a flattering shoutout on Twitter.

And that was before Curry was officially named the NBA MVP for the second straight year, this time becoming the first ever unanimous winner.
Curry, who grew up in Charlotte while his father Dell was playing for the Hornets, is a huge Panthers fan. He even served as the team’s honorary drummer before the Super Bowl, later trolling himself on Twitter over how badly Cam Newton and company were pounded.
Simply put, Curry is on his own planet at the moment. The NBA knows it, the fans know it, and apparently professional athletes from other sports are also well aware of it.
