Kenny Smith has extreme suggestion for finishing NBA season

Kenny Smith

The NBA is considering plans for how to resume the season if they are able to, and analyst Kenny Smith has a wild suggestion.

Smith, who played 10 seasons in the NBA and is an analyst for TNT, wrote his proposal on Twitter. He suggested a single-game elimination tournament until the final four.

The suggestion is certainly exciting and would allow the league to get through games and the season quickly, possibly without severely affecting next season. But would people go for it?

Yeah, that would be fun and similar to the NCAA Tournament, but it has its flaws. Can you imagine if the 15-50 Warriors, who had the worst record in the league, got back Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and knocked out the Lakers in one game? That’s what could happen.

It’s a fun suggestion, but not really a fair one. A shortened remainder of the regular season and perhaps a best of 5 in the playoffs until the Finals might be possible and a better suggestion.
