Kevin Durant is the latest player to have beef with 2K Sports over his rating in the popular “NBA 2K” video game.
The latest edition of the game, “NBA 2K27,” is set to be released on Sept. 4. The new set of player ratings came out this week, launching the usual debates about who was overrated and who got a raw deal from the game developers.
Durant thinks he is among the latter. The new game gives him a mid-range shooting rating of 97, which he feels is a bit rough, and he called out digital marketing director Ronnie Singh, better known as “Ronnie 2K,” over the perceived snub.
“Ronnie 2k. 2k as a company….I am triggered….97 middy?” Durant wrote on Threads.
Durant has actually been a 97 in the midrange in the last five editions of the game, so this is not new, though it appears to be his first time taking note of it. Some fans would certainly take issue with that considering Durant’s midrange jumper is regarded as one of the best ever.
Singh did not seem to be sweating the complaint too much.

At this point, Singh and the game developers are used to negative feedback from the players. Frankly, it is probably good promotion for the game, which remains hugely popular among fans and players alike anyway.
