Kevin Durant posted a note on his Instagram story after leaving Game 5 of the NBA Finals with an injury Monday night.
Durant exited the game after suffering a non-contact injury in the second quarter to his Achilles’ tendon. He limped off the court and was later seen leaving the arena on crutches and in a walking boot.
Durant’s Golden State Warriors rallied to win 106-105 over the Toronto Raptors, which inspired the injured star.
“Dub nation gonna be loud as f— for game 6,” he wrote on Instagram (curse word censored). “I’m hurting deep in the soul right now I can’t lie but seeing my brothers get this win was like taking a shot of tequila, i got new life lol. #dubs”
The Warriors are down 3-2 in the series but have extended things to a Game 6 in Oakland on Thursday night. Durant will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury, which will keep him out of the rest of the series.
