Kevin Durant roasted an NBA writer over Twitter Tuesday for criticizing a teammate’s contract extension.
The Oklahoma City Thunder signed veteran Nick Collison to a two-year, $8 million extension Tuesday. Durant, who has been teammates with Collison his entire career, congratulated the veteran over Twitter:
Congrats Mr. Thunder, such a honor to play alongside you @nickcollison4

That led NBA writer Chris Palmer to criticize the move:
Dude who averages 3 pts & 3 rebs gets 2-year/$8M extension. No wonder they won't make the playoffs.

Durant wasn’t having any of the criticism and let Palmer have it:

About 10 minutes later, Palmer could only manage this whimper:
@KDTrey5 Love that you got your teammates back. But you should get your facts straight.

Palmer used to be employed by ESPN but does not work for them any longer, which is what Durant referenced in his firing remark.
Durant has a pretty clean image, but between this tweet and this video we know the guy definitely has an edge. We don’t mind him showing it when it’s called for. And seeing him call out Palmer is no surprise; he’s been doing it for years.
