Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry is a proud Villanova alum, and during his postgame media session he was having trouble focusing due to the Wildcats’ Elite Eight showdown with Kansas.
Lowry quite clearly stared at the TV as he was asked questions, saluted Villanova’s Daniel Ochefu for a quality play, and apologetically admitted to the assembled reporters that he was “not really into this right now.”
Nobody can say that Lowry is lacking for school pride.
In fairness, you can tell from his second answer that he’s understanding and processing the questions. That said, his answers aren’t terribly informative. Can’t be easy dealing with reporters’ questions while your team is playing for a spot in the Final Four.
Much to Lowry’s delight, Villanova won and produced this great moment in the process. The bad news is that Toronto plays at San Antonio on Saturday night, and Lowry will probably miss Villanova’s game against Oklahoma as a result.
