Report: LeBron James allowed Mike Miller to leave the Cavs

The Cleveland Cavaliers traded Mike Miller to the Portland Trail Blazers over the weekend. I know what you’re thinking, but try not to worry about it too much — all parties involved in the deal had permission from LeBron James.

According to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal, LeBron authorized the Miller trade. Considering Miller reportedly wanted out of Cleveland, that was very nice of King James to give his blessing.

As Dan Feldman of Pro Basketball Talk notes, LeBron was very unhappy when the Miami Heat used the amnesty clause to get rid of Miller. However, the trade exception the Cavs received while clearing Miller’s salary will allow them to spend more down the road, which is why His Highness is probably fine with it.

The Cavs reportedly want LeBron to act as a general manager this summer, so unofficially signing off on trades is part of his job description. It’s almost to the point where they don’t need to be paying a salary to a general manager in Cleveland.
