LeBron James helped lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to victory on Friday night against the Hornets, but it came at a price.
James said he suffered a scratched cornea after being poked in the eye in the third quarter of the game. He was examined by Charlotte’s team physician after the game, leading to that diagnosis, according to Cleveland.com.
James returned to the game and later even landed on his back, but he still scored 32 points with 9 rebounds and 11 assists.
James had trouble opening his eye during his postgame media session according to reports, and he said his vision was blurry.
If LeBron misses the Cavs’ game against the Wizards on Saturday, it will be because of his eye and back. The Cavs are 0-6 this season in games he doesn’t play.
