Markieff Morris pranked with Suns jersey and name plate (Video)
After a tumultuous start to the season, Markieff Morris’ time with the Suns came to an end when he was traded to the Wizards in February. Morris returned to Phoenix for the first time since being traded on Friday and was reminded of some unpleasant times upon arriving to Talking Stick Resort Arena.
With it being April Fool’s Day, Morris became the subject of a prank involving his old team. Washington’s equipment managers hung Morris’ Suns jersey and shorts in his locker as well as his old name plate above it. There were also orange shoes placed on the top shelf.
April 1 is generally a fun day in the sports world. An Australian baseball team tried to have everyone believe Derek Jeter had signed on to be a player/coach for the upcoming season. The Oregon football team got Shane Victorino pretty good and the Warriors told Festus Ezeli he had been cut.
Outside of perhaps a few bad flashbacks, Morris’ evening went well once the game started. He scored 21 points, his high as a member of the Wizards. Morris also added nine rebounds and four blocked shots.
