Dallas Mavericks fans have been blasting general manager Nico Harrison nonstop since the team traded Luka Doncic more than two months ago, and the criticism is only going to get louder on Wednesday night.
Doncic on Wednesday will return to American Airlines Center for the first time since he was traded, as the Mavericks are hosting the Los Angeles Lakers. The Mavs have tributes planned for Doncic, one of which will be handing out T-shirts thanking Doncic in his native language of Slovenian.
Unfortunately for Harrison, those will not be the only shirts handed out in Dallas. One fan has also announced plans to hand out 200 purple and gold shirts that say “Fire Nico” across the front of them in Lakers font.

The outrage directed toward Harrison had quieted slightly in recent weeks, though one fan recently went viral for chanting “fire Nico” right in the GM’s face. That same chant has even broken out at events that have nothing to do with basketball.
Fans may never get over the Doncic trade, and their angry emotions associated with the deal will be stronger than ever on Wednesday night. Harrison is undoubtedly prepared for “Fire Nico” shirts, chants and any other unpleasantries that may be hurled his way.
