Mavericks reportedly trying to trade for Andre Iguodala
The Dallas Mavericks are trying to acquire Andre Iguodala in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to a report.
DallasBasketball.com’s Mike Fisher reported on Wednesday that the Mavericks have offered Courtney Lee and a second-round pick to the Grizzlies for Iguodala.
Dallas received Lee in a salary dump by the Knicks when they acquired Kristaps Porzingis. They have been looking to deal him ever since.
Fisher says that in addition to the $4.4 million in savings (the difference between Iguodala and Lee’s 2019-2020 salaries) the Grizzlies would receive, the Mavericks can also offer $5 million in cash as a sweetener. If Memphis were to take such a deal, they would have effectively received a first-round pick (via Golden State) and second-round pick (via Dallas) all to pay Lee under $8 million.
Dallas is not the only team interested in Iguodala, however. The Grizzlies will likely continue to shop Iguodala to find the best deal on the market.
