Report: Michael Porter canceled workout with lottery teams over hip spasms
Michael Porter Jr. is a projected lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, but some of the teams that are considering taking the former Missouri star may not have an opportunity to get a closer look at him leading up to June 21.
Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reported on Thursday that Porter canceled his second Pro Day workout after he experienced spasms in his hip. The 19-year-old is scheduled to undergo tests.

While the injury could amount to nothing serious, any ailment for Porter is a big concern. He played in only parts of three games with the Tigers last season after he injured his back in the first game and underwent surgery. Porter recovered in time to play in Missouri’s final two games but was not 100 percent healthy.
Porter has made some comments that indicate he has not lost confidence in himself, but injuries could certainly scare some teams away. A report this week said the Sacramento Kings are considering taking Porter at No. 2 overall, so the hip issue will be something to monitor.
